The serial number is really all that is required. It can be foundunderneath the front bezel next to the contrast knob or on the verybottom of the case. The manufacture information can be determined byentering the serial number in this decoder:And you may chose to enter it into thedatabase or not. Your Model is determined by the serial number for thepurposes of this database, regardless of what your M0001 has beenconverted into.Note you can enter serial numbers for the Macintosh & Macintosh 128K (M0001), Macintosh 512K (M0001W), Macintosh 512Ke (M0001E), Macintosh Plus (M0001A), any variations not included here (P, D, etc.) and certain Apple disk drives designed specifically for use with the M0001 which manufacture information can also be derived from the above linked decoder. These include the Hard Disk 20 (M0135), 400K External Drive (M0130) and 800K External Drive (M0131) the serial number of which for the decoder is created by adding the model number to then end. In thecase of the Mac Plus, obviously all of the RAM is removable, but for thispurpose consider 1-4MB 'permanent', regardless if more has beenadded through 3rd party add-on boards.3.
